Memorial Day Weekend Fun

We had plenty of fun this weekend at Jiggle Jam and a bbq with friends. Here are some of the pictures.

Emily was immediately drawn to this tent where they were blowing bubbles…

Really, who can resist bubbles?

At another tent, run by Plum District, where kids got to dress up and pretend to be rock stars…

“Mama! Mama! Look! There’s cotton candy!” (bounce, bounce, bounce) “Please Mama?”

Well, since you asked so nice…

There were multiple tents full of music. This one had a living room feel to it…

It was a warm day, so it wasn’t long before she was ready to cool off in the fountains…

Here we are in line for something. It is a rare day when you see me in front of the camera. I’m usually the one holding it!

And something as simple as a plywood playhouse kept her happy for five minutes. This one was such a simple design. I would love to slap one together and put it under the wisteria. It would have to have a couple of chairs inside, planter boxes outside the windows and a little gravel path leading up to it. That would make it perfect.

And here she is, picking up random boys. Hmmm…

She’s really a good driver. I was only afraid for my life once or twice during the entire minute-long trip. Driver’s training here we come!

We haven’t been to Jiggle Jam in a couple of years, but this little ‘train’ remains a favorite…

And like cotton candy and bubbles, who can resist a trip to the bounce house?!…

Wow, look at that hair fly as she slides down the big inflatable slide…

I just had to snap a picture of this little girl who was watching intensely as Emily got her face painted…

My husband was determined to get the best for his $6. He scoped out all of the artists and said, “I’ll wait on #1 or #3 – they really have some quality work. As it was, we got #1, who was apparently the owner of the company. Emily asked to be a princess and the woman got to work…

Moving right along…

Emily loved her face painting!

There’s my guy!!!!

After Jiggle Jam we headed back to Belton. Emily passed out for a good half hour nap as we stopped by the house and then the grocery store and then to a cleaning client/friend’s house for a bbq potluck. Emily quickly made friends with one of the other guests, a four year old boy. Our host has a professional fireworks license and always has tons of little firecrackers lying around as well. The kids loved going through the box of goodies…

And what are fireworks without a little bit of fire?

Fire extinguisher in hand, our host Matt managed to put the fire out quickly…

Public school is out and it is warm and sunny. I’d call that summer, wouldn’t you? And with summer comes so many fun activities. Starting next Monday Emily will be taking swimming lessons through June. We will probably sign her up for July as well and hopefully have a budding swimmer on our hands by the end of summer.

Acting classes, Girl Scout day camp, and so much more.

Welcome to summer, everyone!
