I Raised Her Right – Homemade Presents – Redux

A week or so after Christmas and the long-anticipated package from my eldest arrived. She’s in California and I miss her like the dickens. I can’t wait for her to get back here so we can get to the business of spending some quality time together, raising kiddos, homeschooling, and exploring the KC metro.

But meanwhile, I get by on emails, phone calls, the occasional visit (me over there, or her coming here) and a very cool present now and then.

Now I’ve said before that homemade presents ROCK. I believe that. I think that the time it takes shows love and caring beyond the simple act of “well, gee, what would so and so want?” So I have been waiting with a great deal of excitement to see what Danielle would send after she told me she was making most of our Christmas gifts.

And here is what she sent…

For me, a lovely hand-painted mug with flowers and the word ‘BLOOM’ on the handle. Oh so appropriate!

And a mug for her grandmother, my mom…

And for Dave, a tea-drinking, die-hard Doctor Who fan…
