I Love These Sites!

Although it happens frequently, it still takes me by surprise…the world of gardening/sustainability and general green living regularly crosses over into homeschooling…and vice versa.

Today I was reading through my Likes on my Facebook page for The Deadly Nightshade and ran across a post about 75 Kid Activities. Perusing this cool list eventually led me to Play at Home Mom.

Play at Home Mom has some great ideas for encouraging learning through play – which is kind of perfect in my book.

As for the 75 Kid Activities my favorites included:

  • Glow sticks in the bathtub
  • Cloud watching
  • Mini rainbow volcanoes
  • Moon phases with Oreos
  • Dino dig
  • Fly a kite
  • Giant bubbles
  • Crayon rocks
  • Tear drop volcanoes
  • Dollar store shopping (not that my kiddo needs any more crap in her room…but)

It was a nice reminder of how much she can learn through fun and experimentation. And I love that idea. Now I just need to put it into practice!
